The Zebra MC9200 set a new standard for rugged mobile computing when it was launched a few years ago and the device maintained that stature ever since. The reign has ended. We just got a sneak peek at the new leader. Avalon Integration is ready to crown the MC9200’s successor. Raise the bar again because Zebra’s new MC9300 has 20 improvements. This rugged handheld does more than push the envelope of enterprise mobile computing. This device blasts right through it.

We’re all used to new versions coming out of our favorite technology, and we’ve perhaps become jaded from the steady stream of “new and improved”. Yes, there are always some cool things, but are they enough to motivate you to upgrade?

The Avalon Integration testers were asked this question. They responded with, “Are you kidding? This is a game-changer!”

What’s so great about the MC9300?

Zebra clearly evaluated every aspect of the previous generation (the MC9200) to determine where improvements could make it better. They also obviously listened to users—those people who always have a wish list ready. The result of all this effort is a long list of features that will produce outstanding efficiency that is sure to deliver rapid ROI.

  1. Faster processor. The new MC9300 is powered by a 2.2 GHz, octa-core, Qualcomm SD660, a major leap from the MC9200’s 1 GHz, dual-core OMAP 4 processor.
  2. More memory. With today’s more graphics-intensive apps, you’ll appreciate having up to 8 times the RAM and 16 times the flash of the previous handheld.
  3. Latest Android OS. The future-proofed MC9300 ships with Android O pre-installed but includes support through Android Q.
  4. Bigger, tougher screen. The MC9200’s 3.7-inch VGA display has grown to 4.3-inch WVGA with a capacitive Gorilla Glass panel.
  5. Expanded Wi-Fi. This version supports 802.11 ac/w for increased Wi-Fi range, speed, and security. 2X2 Multiple-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) provides better performance in areas where multiple users are accessing the network.
  6. Improved Bluetooth. Get twice the data speed and four times the range with less power.
  7. More imaging options. Choose from 4 scan engines to customize the MC9300 to your specific uses, like extended range (3 inches to 70 feet), omnidirectional, and DPMs.
  8. Updated keypad. 7 keypads (alphanumeric, numeric, and functional numeric) let you match your preferred data entry to the task, and the large keys enable input with gloved fingers.
  9. High-resolution rear camera. The 13 MP color camera allows for detailed image capture, ideal for proof of condition, compliance, and service.
  10. Sensors for light and vibration. Ambient Light Sensor saves power by automatically adjusting the screen brightness. The time-saving Vibration feature signals users in noisy environments when a scan has been successfully captured.
  11. Supercharged battery power. The 7000 mAh PowerPrecision+ battery delivers twice the run time of the MC9200 and charges from 0 to 90% in less than 3.5 hours.
  12. More rugged. Zebra is known for its toughness. The MC9300 takes it even further, with an 8-foot drop spec, shock-resistant housing, scratch-resistant display and imager window, and IP65/67 sealing that protects against water.

A tablet provides a great mobile tool. The larger screen allows for better visibility than a smartphone. When you’re using any mobile devices in a rough workspace—like a warehouse, plant, or in the field—drops, kicks, tumbles, dirt, dust, and even water inevitably attack your devices. But it’s ok to get tough with your tablet. Avalon Integration wants you to experience Zebra’s L10 Series choices in rugged tablets to see what you should expect from industrial-grade quality.

Zebras Rugged Tablet L10 Lineup

Last year, Zebra acquired a complete Rugged Tablet Library with a complete portfolio of purpose-built enterprise devices. The move represented a seamless fit, as Zebra Rugged Tablets has earned a reputation for intuitive, ultra-rugged devices that are engineered for unrelenting performance—which also describes the Zebra product line. As a long-standing Zebra Premier Partner, we were excited with the news that we now have even more solutions for our customers!

Let’s take a look at the L10 product platform, which offers a unique array of time-tested powerhouse tablets: the XPAD L10, XBOOK L10, and XSLATE L10.

3 Choices: The Same Security, Safety, and Smarts

Zebra L10 Product Family including the XPAD, XSLATE and the XBOOK

Each tablet in the Zebra L10 Series meets the tough MIL-STD 810G and features IP65 sealing, which protects against dirt, dust, and moisture. All three models easily passed a 6-foot drop test. C1D2 certification, which allows a device to be used in potentially hazardous settings, is pending.

The XSLATE, XPAD, and XBOOK also share a critical security feature. The removable SSD allows each user to protect their data. The integrated fingerprint scanner and smart card/CAC reader options add another layer of protection that’s important for any mobile device.

The L10 Series is engineered with 8th generation Intel Core processors and 4G LTE to deliver rapid-fire performance—up to 600% faster download and 300% faster upload speeds than previous models. Also Coming soon the L10 has received 3rd party certification that it is C1D2.

The integrated View Anywhere display provides easy viewing in any condition—like bright sunlight. The View Anywhere display also has the option of adding auto-sensing glove/wet touch technology, and an active digitizer.

You don’t have to compromise comfort and convenience for computing power in a tablet. Talk to us at Avalon Integration about a demo of the Zebra L10 tablets.

There’s no doubt we rely on smartphones for a variety of computing tasks. The phone is likely one of the lesser used functions. As smartphones became more convenient and functional, they drifted into the workplace. Then came tablets, and workers appreciated the increased landscape of the larger screen, without the unwieldy size of a laptop. With enterprise-grade tablets, workers could access enterprise systems for updates and communicate across the network with more ease than ever before.

Yet, in demanding conditions, like a warehouse or manufacturing facility, consumer devices just don’t last. Drop that tablet on the concrete floor and it’s either headed for repair or replacement—which means downtime and cost. You might also be compromising your data security by using a consumer-grade tablet or limiting the computing power.

Zebra ET50 and ET55 Enterprise-Grade Tablets

Avalon Integration is focused on serving the technology needs of today’s warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturers. We recognized that consumer devices just don’t deliver value in a tough, enterprise environment. So, we looked toward Zebra, a leader in this space, and found the answer.

The Zebra ET50 and ET55 enterprise tablets are purpose-built for the workplace. These enterprise-grade tablets make the grade—with a higher level of security, data capture, connectivity, and durability. Use these powerful mobile computing devices to:

  • Access real-time reports
  • Transmit work orders
  • Check equipment status
  • Track orders
  • Review and adjust workflows
  • Trigger replenishment
  • Place supply orders
  • Locate people and inventory
  • Capture and send high-quality photos or videos
  • View schematics
  • Record inspections with the date and time stamps
  • Use voice and messaging functions to communicate with the workforce

The Zebra ET50/ET55 enterprise tablet is designed to handle all of these functions with ease and reliability. With the sleek design of a consumer tablet, the ET50/ET55 is unquestionably rugged. Drop the tablet from three feet without worry. Add the rugged frame and the device will handle a drop from more than six feet. The ET50/ET55 will also withstand rain, snow, and dust. The IP65 sealing protects it from even a heavy spray from a hose.

This high-powered, intuitive, and rugged tablet also comes pre-installed with Zebra’s Mobility Extensions (Mx), a suite of features that elevate your operating system to enterprise-class Android. The result is more streamlined and effective device management, security, Wi-Fi performance, and application access. You can do more, better.
